Dr. Peeyush Jain is an internationally renowned leading expert in Cholesterol Management, Hypertension, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Nutrition, and long-term care of heart and blood vessel diseases. He joined Fortis-Escorts Heart Institute in 1993 to establish the first Department of Preventive and Rehabilitative Cardiology in the country. It was at a time when the concept of preventing heart disease by lifestyle and risk factor management was practically unknown in India.
Dr. Peeyush Jain is presently engaged as Director, Non-invasive Cardiology and Head, Department of Preventive Cardiology. After pursuing MBBS from Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi (1973-1978), Dr. Jain did MD (Medicine) from the same Institute. Further, he did post-doctoral fellowship in Cardiology (DM) from GB Pant Hospital in 1987 and worked at All India Institute of Medical Sciences for some time.
Dr. Peeyush Jain is a regular guest faculty at National and International Conferences in India and abroad. He was Editor in Chief of The Heart of the Matter, a bimonthly journal of Heart and Diabetes Care from 1996 to 2006. Dr. Jain has authored 16 books on Medicine and Health in English and several regional languages of India. One book was also translated in Indonesian language. He has published more than 100 articles in medical and health journals.
Dr. Peeyush Jain is a member of Editorial Board, Cardiology Today. He is also Chairperson, Independent Ethics Committee, and member, Governing Council, Lady Irwin College, New Delhi. Dr. Jain is well known for innovative approaches to patient-centric and evidence-based management. He is professionally supported by a team of multispecialty critical care physicians, cardiologists and cardiac surgeons.
