Dr. Amit Varma

A specialist in Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Varma has been instrumental in setting up high-end speciality hospitals like Fortis, Narayana Hrudayalaya and Manipal Heart Foundation and has also helped in the redesign of the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre.

He completed his Residency, from the State University of New York and did his Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Centre and sub specialized in Cardiac Critical Care.

He is a Visiting Faculty at the University of Pittsburgh and the Stanford University School of Medicine.

He also functions as a Healthcare Consultant to the World Bank and the European Commission. He is currently on the editorial board of the Indian Journal of Critical Care Medicine and the Society for Paediatric Research and is a member of the Executive councils of the Paediatric Cardiac Society of India, Society for Critical Care Medicine (USA) and the Asian Paediatric Cardiac Surgery and Cardiology.
