The department carries out nearly a million tests every year.

(Fully Automated Random Access Biochemistry Analyzer):

ELECSYS 2010(Roche Hitachi):

• Benchtop analyzer, multiple sizes and types of sample containers.
• Stat samples can be introduced into normal routine operation at any time and are assigned the highest priority for processing.
• Various dilution ratios can be selected for each sample and the elecsys systems perform the dilution automatically.
• Reagents are identified and inventory is tracked on the system automatically through the use of information rich two-dimensional barcodes.
• Innovative barcoding system for reagents, calibrators and controls offers large data capacity and high security, permitting programming by loading (PBL).
• Liquid level and clot detection: facilitate trouble-free testing.

• The Bio-Rad D-10 haemoglobin testing system is a fully automated analyzer consisting of a single module that provides an integrated method for sample preparation, separation and determination of specific haemoglobin in whole blood. The system is a mid-volume analyzer that can accommodate 1 to 10 samples per run.
  The D-10 Hemoglobin Testing System uses the principles of high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
  The software performs a reduction of raw data collected from each analysis that may include use of a calibration factor. A sample report and chromatogram are generated for each sample.

Procedure

• The samples are collected using the vacutainer system supplied by BD.
• Urgent samples are processed on priority basis & reported usually with in 1hr. of receiving sample.
• Quality control & quality assurance are strictly implemented & authenticated by regular internal & external quality control checks both at national & international levels.
• Department is also involved in training activities of Nurses and students of Biotechnology, DMLT, BMLT, MHA, Msc. etc.
